Friday Morning

Thank you to all the students who returned their weekly homework today.  While there is not normally weekend homework, the children are coming home with a task to complete for Monday.  As part of our involvement with the App Project at Holy Trinity, your son or daughter is bringing home a template on which they are to design a logo for the company name which they have chosen with their group.  On Monday, they will have the opportunity to vote on the logo which will represent their group. Our friends from Holy Trinity will be visiting us Tuesday morning to see their work. We have been looking at company logos over the last few days and are learning to identify the purpose behind these images by asking questions like "what age or group is this logo aimed towards?" or "do the messages on the packaging make us think we would like to play this game?".  In Language Arts, the students are working on describing their superheroes to accompany the image they have created.  In about a week, they will bring these home to share with you.  They will also be taking a recent reading comprehension passage they have been working on.  Our school had their first practise lock down this morning and our class did a great job of waiting quietly for our door to be opened by our school resource officer.  Please note that Library will resume on Monday. The Learning Commons was unavailable this past week. Have a wonderful weekend!
