Tuesday Morning

We spent a lot of our morning developing our understanding of how to effectively write a persuasive text.  On the Smartboard, we reviewed an example of a level four text (students were also given a copy of this piece of writing to keep in their notebooks as a reference).  We looked at success criteria for persuasive writing and added a checklist to our notes.  Students reviewed our anchor charts and we added a list of strong prompting words to "bump up" our writing.  The grade fours chose a persuasive topic to write about and organized their reasons by using a graphic organizer.  Our math lesson involved reviewing some key geometric terms (e.g., right angle, parallelogram) with a partner by answering some multiple choice questions.  For Religion, we reviewed our Catholic Character Formation Goal for the month of March:  justice.  Our class had a discussion about what justice means.  Answers included: respect; peace; fairness and equality.  Have a great evening!
