Wednesday Morning

In Language Arts, we reviewed the concept of sentence fluency. On the Smartboard, students had the chance to sort sentences into various groups depending on how fluid the model sentences were. We were looking for sentences of varying lengths; with different beginnings(e.g., not beginning in the same way each time); and the use of various forms of punctuation. The grade fours then had the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and "bump up" a text about the Olympics with a partner. After recess, students visited the Learning Commons to spend time reading and to exchange their books. During Religion, we read about the birthplace of Jesus and discussed the beauty of this region. The children tackled a math problem related to proportional reasoning which challenged them to communicate their problem-solving strategies. A gentle reminder to please return pancake order forms shortly if your son/daughter wishes to purchase this meal. Enjoy your evening!
